This presentation focused on the connection between immigration policies and healthcare access. They talked about the importance of staying informed about current laws, advocating for fair reforms, promoting ethical practices, and supporting community programs that assist immigrants and underserved populations. They also discussed the ethical debate about whether healthcare should be available to everyone regardless of their legal status. This helped me understand how policy decisions affect people’s health and well-being and why compassion and fairness matter so much. One moment that stood out was when a group member talked about “donor fog,” something I had never heard of before. It taught me something completely new. I also appreciated how confidently he spoke without depending too much on his notes, which made his part engaging and easy to follow. While some members read more from their slides, everyone still added something valuable and created strong brochures. One member arrived late, which affected their flow a bit, but overall they presented well and worked hard on the project. I learned how ethics and policy connect, especially when it comes to healthcare and immigration. I now understand why healthcare is considered a human right and how advocacy can help bring positive change. I also learned that strong presentation skills—like speaking confidently and making eye contact—help the audience understand topics better.
Group #3
This group talked about how immigration affects families, travel experiences, and opportunities for a better life. They discussed current immigration laws and the challenges immigrants face, including documentation requirements and language barriers. One member shared updated information about the current immigration status and even added audio from her interview, which made their presentation feel real and personal. Another member talked about how children struggle with communication when they first immigrate, and she used her own experience and her friend’s story as examples. Another member explained what a TSA employee told her about the difficulties of traveling because immigrants need many documents to prove who they are. Their PowerPoint and brochure were visually appealing and very organized. Some members used bullet points instead of long paragraphs, which helped the audience stay focused. Even though one member didn’t show up, they still completed their part, which showed good responsibility. I learned new information about current immigration issues and gained a better understanding of how difficult it is for families to adapt to a new country. Their stories helped me see the emotional side of immigration. I also learned that good visuals and bullet points can make a big difference in how well an audience understands a presentation.

This presentation focused on understanding immigration policies and healthcare access. It highlighted the importance of staying informed about current laws, advocating for fair reforms, promoting ethical practices, and supporting community programs that assist immigrants and underserved populations. We also examined the ethical debate about providing care regardless of legal status. What I Learned: From this presentation, I learned how policy and ethics connect in real-life situations. I gained a better understanding of why access to healthcare is a basic human right and how community involvement and advocacy can create positive change. It also taught me the importance of compassion, equality, and fairness in shaping public policy. .My group presentation was a great experience. I liked how my team members shared deeper information and presented their topics with confidence and clarity. We helped each other and agreed on ideas, from designing the PowerPoint and brochure to coordinating our clothing. It showed our teamwork and organization. Some of my team members talked about current immigration issues, which made our presentation more meaningful and relevant. I learned a lot about teamwork, planning, and communication. I also learned about myself as a presenter. I still get nervous, and sometimes I rely too much on my notes, but I made sure to look at the audience every few seconds. Even though my nerves were everywhere, I still did better than my last presentation. I want to keep improving my confidence. Overall, I’m proud of how well my group worked together. We supported one another and created something we can all be proud of. This project showed me the importance of preparation, teamwork, and confidence when presenting.
Working on this assignment also helped me understand how different groups can teach one another through their unique styles, stories, and examples. Listening to everyone made me more open-minded, more informed, and more aware of the real challenges immigrants face every day.
Nice reflection!
